The LLVLC Show (Episode 534): Real Foods-Based Paleo Nutrition Therapist Diana Rodgers

TRY LIFESHOTZ–AN ALL-NATURAL SUGAR-FREE NUTRITION DRINK SUPPLEMENT:

NOTICE OF DISCLOSURE: http://cmp.ly/3

In Episode 534 of “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore,” we welcome a nutritional therapy practitioner and healthy living activist named Diana Rodgers from “Radiance Nutrition” who dealt with a series of health concerns as a child that led her down a journey to find the diet that was right for her. She became passionate about the subject of real food during high school after working at a roadside stand featuring fresh foods from a local farm in New York state. It wasn’t until her mid-20′s before Diana finally had the answer to what plagued her–it was Celiac Disease that was causing her all the problems. She immediately implemented a gluten-free diet and got better which fueled her desire to learn more and more about the role food plays on health. What she discovered ignited a fire within her to educate everyone she comes into contact with about the life-changing benefits of consuming real, whole, nutrient-dense foods that comprised the traditional diets of our early ancestors. Diana and her family now run their own family farm in Hamilton, Massachusetts and are active in their community promoting a dramatic shift in the way “food” is perceived by the general public. What would happen if everyone took their passion for healthy living to the degree that Diana Rodgers has? We’d be healthier and happier than we ever thought possible! Enjoy this engaging and delightful conversation I had with Diana about what it means to eat real food.

Listen to Diana Rodgers talk about what real food nutrition is about:

  • She was “very sick” as a child from undiagnosed Celiac disease
  • Why she was told she need to “drink soy milk daily”
  • Once she was diagnosed in her late-20′s, she went gluten-free
  • Her blood sugar concerns that kept her out of whack for a while
  • How Robb Wolf’s The Paleo Solution “changed my life”
  • The “Paleo-focused” information she provides to her clients
  • Her summer farm job as a teen that ignited a passion for food
  • How she convinced her husband to have a career change become a farmer
  • The “road trip” of going to her farm during #AHS12 in August
  • What attracted her to read Wolf’s book over the other ones
  • The lack of personal knowledge of many of the “experts”

  • What her Paleo-styled diet actually looks like
  • Why wheat and sugar elimination are critical to begin with
  • Getting rid of all grains, dairy and sugar is the ideal
  • The convenience of her farm selling foods good on a Paleo diet
  • Why she was initially skeptical about eating butter and cream

  • Her local talks about nutrition to educate the general public
  • What Paleo advocates can do to spread the word in more areas
  • The perception that the tide seems to be turning on nutrition

  • Shocking things she found being on the “wellness committee”
  • How some parents are upset by the sugar ban during parties
  • Why she’s decided not to fight the school lunches yet
  • The affluence of her area forces them to sell direct to consumers
  • How her kids aren’t perfectly Paleo but 90% of the way there
  • Why she has to remain super-strict to control her Celiac disease
