NOTICE OF DISCLOSURE: http://cmp.ly/3

In Episode 519 of “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore,” we welcome a personal trainer like you’ve never seen before in Drew Manning. Earlier this year, Drew got the bright idea to get rid of his six-pack abs let himself go by eating all sorts of highly-processed, carbohydrate-laden foods to make himself fat only to turn right around and make himself fit again. He calls this self-experiment “Fit 2 Fat 2 Fit” where he went from ripped in May 2011 to flabby by early November and is now in the midst of getting ripped again by May 2012. Along the way, Drew has learned some valuable lessons that I’m sure will help him relate a little better to his clients and the struggles they face. If he actually pulls this off, then there could be a huge book contract to come out of it! This has already garnered him some extraordinary national publicity on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Dr. Oz Show, and many other places. Do you think he can take off the pounds that he put on this year? Check out what he has to say about this whole crazy idea he’s decided to do.

Listen to Drew Manning discuss purposely going from fit to fat:

  • Why he got interested in fitness through football and wrestling
  • How most of his clients are just out of shape
  • His idea in May 2011 to purposely make himself fat
  • The full-time job he has in the medical field
  • He wanted to better understand why his clients are noncompliant
  • The nearly 80 pounds he gained just “letting himself go”
  • What he did to get fat–it was “actually pretty easy” on SAD
  • Why he didn’t really eat a lot of fast food to balloon up
  • His addiction to working out that was tested when he stopped
  • What his medical colleagues thought about his weight gain
  • How he gained weight more quickly than he expected
  • The highly-processed carbohydrates he consumed to get fat
  • His belief in making a lifestyle change rather than a diet
  • Why he thinks he put on so much weight so fast
  • The difficulty he has experienced in doing simple tasks
  • How he lost his “endurance levels” in just a few weeks
  • Why he felt like “a fat guy” even after just 10 pounds gained
  • The embarrassment he felt being in front of his wife
  • How this experiment has “taken a toll” on his relationship
  • If he thinks this will give him a proper perspective on obesity
  • The reality of the cravings and addictions fat people deal with
  • Why he chose to lose the weight again BEFORE the holidays
  • What he will be doing to lose the weight after the gain
  • The adjustments he will be making that won’t go to the “extreme”
  • Why he decided not to do any exercise for the first month
  • Why he doesn’t believe in a “one-size-fits-all” diet plan
  • Whether he took any video of himself while he was gaining weight
  • What he thinks about the major media attention he has received
  • His “Pledge For Pounds” charity benefit
  • The T-shirts he is selling to donate to the charity
  • How he’d have to wear 3XL T-shirts if he got one
  • Whether or not he’s going to write a book about this experience
  • What has happened to his key health markers since getting fat
  • How his kidneys are “of an alcoholic” because of sugary soda
  • Why the next six months are critical to his success
  • How he’s “confident” but has “doubts” if he’ll pull this off
  • How long it took for his six-pack to go away
