I got the flatbread as a hopeful substitution the other day, but it just isn't the same. Here's a thought though. Take tortilla shells with you to the store, order your sandwich as a salad and then put it on the tortilla... IN THE STORE! I bet if enough people did it, they'd get the hint!!

*Sigh* So long yummy wraps. My wife and I ate at Subway the other day. They had no mention of wraps on their menu but said they still had them. When we got our wraps, they looked different. I said to them they weren't the same and asked if they were still low carb. The employees told me that they were still low carb but better than before. However, they couldn't tell me how many carbs they had... Argh!

This pisses me off. My wife and I ate at Subway the other day. They don't have the soy taste like some of the other lc wraps. 7 carbs, 3 fiber and 0 trans fats. So far I've seen them in MO, IL, KY, IN and OK. Hopefully they are available pretty much everywhere.

I buy the Buena Vida whole wheat low-carb tortillas and they are really good. They have about 9 grams of carbs as I recall, don't have a package handy to check. So they are not real low-carb, but substantially lower than regular tortillas, and as for taste and texture, they are pretty good, maybe as good as the average hi-carb flour tortillas from commercial bakers. I get them locally at Safeway or the local Krogers subsidiary. Ben

Mission sells low-carb flour tortillas, at least here in the SouthWest. While the Subway LC wraps had their disadvantages, namely they were too expensive ($5-6) and the texture of the wrap was a little weird (I took to calling them "rubber wraps" affectionately), they STILL were a good option to have when traveling.

Since all Subways had them, I could count on finding a low carb meal whereever I was - rather than relying on stores that might use a "local option" to carry them again.

Argh. Bring back the rubber wrap!

As an aside, is there a highly recommended wrap/tortilla that can be purchased in the store, other than La Tortilla (I already like them...)?

THANKS!

Definitely a bummer. I'm low-carbin' but my wife isn't, yet we both love Subway tuna wraps. We've even converted several of our friends to wraps at Subway.

On a side note, does anyone know where to purchase the same kind of low-card wraps that Subway has, up til now, been using?

What a stinker!!
