‘Low Carb Down Under’ Speaking Tour Coming To Australia November 2012

I have always wanted to visit other countries ever since I was a little kid. Growing up in Florida and Tennessee, I never really went outside of the friendly confines of the Southern United States until after I got out on my own in college. But other than a mission trip I did at the end of my college days that sent me to Chile, South America for three weeks in the early 1990s and the various tourist destinations in the Bahamas, Jamaica and Mexico we’ve visited while on The Low-Carb Cruise over the past few years, that dream of being a world traveler has been left unfulfilled. One of these days I DEFINITELY want to visit Sweden to get a first-hand glimpse of the LCHF movement that is happening there.

But after we returned from the Low-Carb Cruise in May 2012 where I was privileged to meet fellow low-carb health enthusiasts Dr. Rod Tayler and Jamie Hayes from Australia in person, they talked about bringing me and Christine to their country for a three-week speaking tour. Really? Are you serious? Hmmmmm, let me think about it for a moment–YES YES YES!!! I was honored to have this very unique opportunity to fulfill a dream to travel to a country I’ve long wanted to visit and to help spread the message of livin’ la vida low-carb to the enthusiastic and ever-growing Paleo/low-carb communities there.

They’re dubbing this speaking tour “Low Carb Down Under” and it is open to anyone in Australia and New Zealand who would like to attend. I can’t wait to see so many of my “Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb” fans from that part of the world in person. Christine and I already have our plane tickets purchased and are ready to leave the United States on November 13, 2012 for an amazing few weeks of visiting as many areas as we can squeeze in. Dr. Tayler and Jamie have put together quite a busy schedule that will hit four towns in three weeks, including Melbourne, Sydney, Byron Bay and Brisbane. I am super-stoked about speaking alongside so many of the leading voices on behalf of healthy living in Australia as part of this awesome event!

I’m pretty much at the mercy of the people organizing this event. I’d love to see as much of your great country when we go there. 🙂

  • LLVLCBlog

I dunno…the organizers are putting all of that information together. I do know you will have a great time and we’ll do our best to provide you with outstanding lectures.

Jimmy, you will have done yourself short if you dont visit Perth! It is by far the most beautiful place in Australia, and if you dont agree, I shall pay you double thenprice of my ticket!

THANKS Ruby, but I’m not the one setting the schedule for where I’m going. I’m sure Perth is an amazing city to visit in Australia. This group bringing me in is doing all the details for the trip and I’m pretty much going wherever they tell me to go. I would be delighted to visit all of Australia if I could. THANKS for your comments!

Wow, Jimmy, so exciting! Wish I was going!

    • LLVLCBlog

      It’s pretty neat.

  • Jimmy, I am so excited for you! Melbourne is my home away from home. So so many good places to eat. Let me know where you are staying and I can give you some recommendations (hidden gems). Byron Bay – heavenly. Have so much fun, I know a few friends considering the event in Melb. Cheers, Kelly

Not sure of the exact dates I’m in Melbourne. Do you live in Oz?

  • Neal

That sounds like an amazing trip Jimmy. I hope you have a great time and wish I could attend myself. However, I will get a chance to attend a presentation by Dr. Jay Wortman in November here in Vancouver as part of a conference for health care professionals called Live Well with Diabetes. Should be interesting. Here’s the brochure for it if you want to take a quick look see at it.

    Cheers, Neal
