Unfortunately, when it comes to children, the parents have a lot to say about what their children eat. I have to tell you that I'm not a parent, but I have opportunities galore to observe. I'd say it would be easy to control the diet of children up to about the age of 10. After that, I truly believe parents have done all they can regading diet and other personality traits of children. We must also be reasonable in our expectation for the fast food industry to be a watch-dog for any member of the American population. It's not going to happen. They are part of our free-market society and they are going to market what makes money. After all, we are free to choose what we want in most areas of our lives.

You cannot scare, coerce(?), prod, plead or bargain when it comes to what people want to eat. Look what has happened to the "health" food market...it is virtually no better than fast food (just my opinion).

We just have to keep talking about it, show by our figures and physiques what can happen when using a low-carb diet and hopefully, vanity will kick in before our next generation destroys their health.

Thanks for bringing this issue up.
We need to talk about these problems, and in a popular public forum like this blog, I think it can make a difference.
Companies need to know that consumers want to be served real healthy food, and not just fake carbage.
