I’m excited to share with you a very cool opportunity I had to tape a segment for an internationally-televised appearance on the “The 700 Club” set to air on Monday, October 7, 2013 (check local listings to find out when it airs in your area). This program garners millions of listeners globally every weekday and the programming is geared towards providing information for Christians (which I am one). I shared about the five-hour taping experience last month for this 5-minute segment that is set to air within the first 15 minutes of the show entitled “Eat Fats, Cut Carbs to Reclaim Your Skinny Self.” The CBN News Medical Reporter Lorie Johnson (you can follow her on Twitter and Facebook) has already done a positive story on low-carb, high-fat, ketogenic diets and their relationship to cancer previously HERE in case you missed it.
We discussed my low-carb success story, the struggles I had with morbid obesity, the improvements I saw in my health consuming a low-carb, high-fat diet, why carbohydrates are the culprit in obesity and chronic diseases many suffer with, the intense fear of saturated fat that keeps people mired in poor health, details about the information on cholesterol and heart health Dr. Eric Westman and I shared in our new book Cholesterol Clarity, helping others find a low-carb friendly physician to help them in their health journey, how to justify making a low-carb, high-fat diet a permanent and healthy lifestyle choice, and other nuggets of truth that I’m happy to get out there to a whole new audience of people who desperately need to hear this information now more than ever before!
After you watch the segment, I’d love to hear your feedback about it in the comments section below. And if you found “Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb” after seeing me on “The 700 Club,” welcome to the blog and say hello or any any questions you may have for me. In case you didn’t see the segment on television, here it is to view:
10-7-13 UPDATE: If you watched the full segment with commentary afterwards on television today to the very end, then you probably heard “The 700 Club” host Pat Robertson say some things about a low-carb, high-fat diet approach warning people about it. His primary concern seemed to be centered around the subject of gout and the resulting joint pain that he says would be caused by not eating enough carbohydrates in your diet. For more information responding to this topic, check out this post on Tim Ferriss’ “Four Hour Workweek” blog featuring the “missing chapter” on gout from Gary Taubes’ Good Calories Bad Calories book as well as what Mark Sisson from the “Mark’s Daily Apple” blog shares on this subject. If the gout issue is what the concern is rather than high cholesterol and clogged arteries from eating a high-fat diet, then I’d say all in all it makes this segment awesome. I trust people to make their own judgment about what’s best for them and their health. What did YOU think?
