While I’m away writing my book, you’ll be graced with some FANTASTIC guest hosts on “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show” on Mondays, an LLVLC Show Classic episode on Wednesdays and my podcast producer Kevin Kennedy-Spaien guest co-hosting with Dietitian Cassie on “Low-Carb Conversations” on Fridays. Since I don’t have a lot of time to share detailed notes like I usually do here at my blog, I’ll be providing links so you can listen on iTunes, at the official web site, download the mp3 or listen on the Stitcher app along with some quick notes about what’s in each episode. ENJOY!
One of my favorite health podcasts has got to be “Balanced Bites: Modern Paleo Living” featuring co-hosts Diane Sanfilippo and Liz Wolfe and I am so thrilled to share them with you as my first-ever guest hosts of “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show.” Listen in to hear about a topic I would probably never address quite like Diane and Liz do in Episode 652–natural skin care! Liz recently developed an outstanding resource about this called the Skintervention Guide and she goes into great detail about the role of nutrition, digestion and topical treatments for developing the best possible skin you can have. Listen in to hear her and Diane provide practical tips centered around ancestral nutrition for improving skin health!
We’ve got a “Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show” classic episode featuring an Idaho-based bariatric physician named Dr. Allen Rader who was the first person to bring to my attention the notion of looking at carbohydrates as teaspoons of sugar. This interview was originally recorded way back in 2007 and was actually lost for a while. The sound quality isn’t the most perfect in the world, but the information in this interview was so invaluable. I definitely need to get Dr. Rader back on one of my podcasts when I return from writing my book. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy hearing this LLVLC Classic episode featuring Dr. Allen Rader. ENJOY!
Listen to our guest friends Adam Kosloff and Mark Spurbeck who are joining Dietitian Cassie and my guest co-host Kevin Kennedy-Spaien (the producer of my podcasts who is filling in for me on Fridays while I’m writing my book) today. Adam is the author of Beyond Caloriegate and the voice of the Escape From Caloriegate podcast and Mark is one of Minneapolis’ most prestigious personal trainers through his company Fit Twin Cities. Listen in as the panel discusses health headlines like why an all-fruit diet is dangerous, the supposed risks of consuming eggs, why an RD thinks you should “starve yourself” a little everyday, juice cleansing madness, Minnesota Twins demand a player maintain his weight, whether health insurance should be like car insurance, the risk vs. reward model and Kobe Bryant’s on a low-carb diet now? Plus, don’t miss some awesome recipes at the end. Pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee and let’s talk!
