Book…writing…long hours…type type type…interviews…transcribe…
That above scenario has just about been my life this past month and I’m just working through the process. The interviews I’ve been doing for my book have been phenomenal and will likely take me in a direction with the book I had not originally intended. But it will be AWESOME! These raw interviews will likely air on my podcast later this year, so you’ll be able to soak in the wisdom from them as well. Can’t wait to share them! My guest hosts have been doing an amazing job on Mondays and we’ll keep that up in the next few months while I continue writing. The classic episode we are sharing on Wednesdays have been a real treat for those who haven’t heard them and we’ve got a doozy in store for you this week–Dr. Dean Ornish! And don’t miss Dietitian Cassie and the gang on “Low-Carb Conversations” coming up on Friday. Be sure to check back here later this week when I’ll provide specific links on how to listen to these podcasts once they are available. ENJOY!
One of my favorite health podcasters in the world has got to be my buddy Abel James from “The Fat Burning Man.” His signature smoothe-sounding voice and conversational interview style on his top-ranked iTunes podcast has quickly made Abel one of the most beloved and respected figures in the Paleo community. He hops into the guest hosting seat for me this week on “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show” to chat with one of his best friends and an all-around good guy in his own right named George Bryant from “Civilized Caveman Cooking Creations.” Listen in as these two share a prototypical conversation about living a Paleo lifestyle in a modern world. They even got in a few good digs at me all in good fun. ENJOY!
You are in for a great treat today with a previously-aired, four-part interview with Dr. Dean Ornish, all in one remastered and re-formatted episode for your listening pleasure as part of our “Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show Classic” series airing on Wednesdays. Listen in as Dr. Ornish talks about his 2008 book release called The Spectrum and where he feels low-carbers and low-fat adherents should be in agreement. This episode originally aired over four days in February and March of 2008 as Episodes 115-118 of The LLVLC Show. While we don’t have the original raw audio of the interview any longer, we were able to pull the audio from the published episodes and even improve it a bit with modern audio software! What’s really interesting is that this isn’t the first time I’ve interviewed Dr. Ornish. After our first interview took place with a tape recorder on speaker phone one month before the birth of this podcast, Dr. Ornish asked to come on this podcast and requested that I challenge him and be more assertive in taking on anything that he disagreed with. Of course, I didn’t need to be asked twice about doing this (and interestingly, Dr. Ornish has never asked to come back on the show again)! This one, while still polite, was far more challenging and a bit contentious at times as well. This is really an LLVLC Classic episode in every sense of the word! DON’T MISS IT!
In Episode 72 we get to hear Dietitian Cassie fly solo in the hosting seat while talking with our guest friends registered dietitian Kelly Schmidt of Paleo Infused and Corben Thomas of Paleo Life 365! Listen in as they discuss why it shouldn’t be surprising that “Big Food” wants to be part of training dietitians and nutritionists, why margarine will kill you, why whole grains aren’t really low on the glycemic Index, why “Big Agra” wants us out of their abattoirs, attitudes about the obese and food addiction, and much, MUCH more!
