I’m still banging away at my cholesterol book with nearly 20,000 words on paper now. I started getting my interviews lined up and have a whole bunch of those ready to roll this week with many of the top cholesterol experts. It was such an honor to speak with one of the biggies in this field earlier today in Dr. Ronald Krauss and there are so many more to come to provide some rich depth to this book. While I’m away, the guest hosting of my podcasts is still happening featuring your favorite Paleo/low-carb bloggers and podcasters on Mondays, an LLVLC Show Classic episode on Wednesdays and my podcast producer Kevin Kennedy-Spaien guest co-hosting with Dietitian Cassie on “Low-Carb Conversations” on Fridays. I’ll provide you with links to these as they are posted online. Check out what we have in store for you this week!
My beautiful and talented friend Stefani Ruper from the “Paleo For Women” blog as well as the excellent “Live.Love.Eat” podcast does a spectacular job of interviewing Paul Jaminet about the newly-updated and expanded version of his book Perfect Health Diet: Regain Health and Lose Weight by Eating the Way You Were Meant to Eat. If you’re curious about what this new version of the book is all about and what sets it apart from the rest of the concepts in the Paleo and low-carb communities. Stefani does an amazing job and Paul outlines the theories he believes in to strive for obtaining “perfect health.” Listen in as they discuss the effects of palatability of foods, dealing with cravings, calorie restriction, the types and quantities of carbs eaten by actual Paleolithic hunter-gatherers and so much more! ENJOY!
Dr. Annika Dahlqvist and Per Wikholm are sharing today in this pair of “Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show” Classic interviews discussing the remarkable Swedish LCHF Revolution. Dr. Dahlqvist was willing to put her entire medical career on the line to defend the low-carb nutritional approach in her home country of Sweden. Although the odds were stacked against her, she KNEW the science was on her side. In the end, she came out of this intense trial triumphant and strong as the Swedish government now promotes a low-carb diet alongside a low-fat one. Next up, Per Wikholm brought us up-to-speed on what happened in the aftermath of Dr. Dahlqvist’s stunning victory. If you’ve been living under a rock and didn’t know much about the low-carb, high-fat diet movement going on in Scandinavia right now, then listen in to Episode 655 to get caught up on the tidal wave of support for this way of eating that’s happening there now.
Listen is as Dietitian Cassie and and my special fill-in co-host Kevin Kennedy-Spaien welcome Jessica Kempf from “Budget For Health” and Eric Schmitz (aka Mr. Dana Carpender) at the “My Total Gym Transformation” blog to talk about whether eating Paleo is only for snobs, if you need willpower to lose weight, New York restaurants banning food picture taking, to go gluten-free or not, new research showing yogurt consumption increasing with at-home breakfast consumption, an RD that’s saying “fat is awesome,” whether you should eat clean or not and so much more! It’s always fun looking at and discussing the health headlines, so don’t miss Episode 71 for the latest news and views!
