I’ve been so caught up in finishing my new book Cholesterol Clarity: What The HDL Is Wrong With My Numbers? that I tee-totally forgot that it’s April. So what’s so special about this month? It was eight years ago that I started the “Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb” blog after experiencing a life-changing 180-pound weight loss in 2004. Little did I know back then just how big this thing would get expanding into a YouTube channel, a couple of self-published books and three top-rated iTunes podcasts. It’s been an awesome ride!
Regular readers have become accustomed to helping me celebrate my blogiversary (the anniversary of my blog) every April with lots of giveaways galore. All of your favorite low-carb and Paleo loot you could ever want to win have been a part of these prize packages each year, but the 2013 celebration will need to be postponed until June while I’m finishing up my book. I can’t wait to celebrate my 8-year blogiversary with you in a couple of months. Stay tuned for details on the contest along with my annual reader survey in the month of June. Here are the podcasts I have for you this week:
Chiropractors Dr. Brett Hill and Dr. Janah James and Wellness Coach Stephanie Wasylyk from the Australian podcast “That Paleo Show” are this week’s guest hosts for Episode 670 of “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show.” We’re continuing to highlight the shining stars of the low-carb and Paleo community with special guest-hosting slots for you here on Mondays. Today, we are so happy to present some friends of mine that I met during my “Low Carb Down Under” tour of Australia in November who now host the #1 health podcast in the land of Oz called “That Paleo Show.” Dr. Hill is a wellness expert, chiropractor and author of the life-changing book How To Eat An Elephant. He is joined by Dr. Janah James, a chiropractor and wellness advocate with a history of healing her own chronic conditions with dietary approaches dating all the way back to her childhood (and a BIG FAN of this podcast!). They are joined by Stephanie Wasylyk, who is passionate about sharing her knowledge of health and wellness with the world and is a strong advocate for lifelong learning and growth. Enjoy this special trio of co-hosts today and get a feel for what their amazing new podcast is all about. ENJOY!
Paleo diet legend Art De Vany, author of The New Evolution Diet, is our guest today in this LLVLC Classic interview in Episode 671 of “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show.” De Vany is widely regarded as one of the most influential members of the ancestral health, nutrition and fitness field right there along the likes of Robb Wolf, Mark Sisson and Loren Cordain. But what makes De Vany so unique is how well he has been able to maintain such an incredible display of physical strength as a 70-something year old man demonstrates just how powerfully effective this way of eating living can be. In this special LLVLC Classic episode, we re-air two conversations I had with him a few years back to give you a taste of what “Superman’s grandfather” is like. Listen in as we discuss the value of randomized exercise and eating schedules, intermittent fasting, how modern and prehistoric foods differ and so much more. This is one for the ages that you won’t want to miss!
