If you didn't notice, Pot, this post was satirical. But it would be amazing to see somebody like Dr. Eades in a high governmental position indeed. FDA, USDA, NIH...anything!

Hiya Jimmy,

#1- Mike Eades has no experience in the public sector at all. So, to put a newbie as CEO seems a wee bit dopey.

#2- Mike Eades would get little done as he has no patience for any politician. Unless you're going to do away with Congress, he'd be a terrible leader.

#3- Mike Eades has no real understanding on how a real economy works, and no real experience in building, rebuilding, or destroying one. I've posted back and forth with him frequently about economics issues and he clearly doesn't get the first principles. If you want a president who doesn't understand economics (or how they underlie EVERYTHING there is or have any response for anyone who does understand them), go on with your badself.

4- All that said, Mike's a great guy. He'd be a lousy president, but being president would probably cut into his writing and blogging time, so it's for the best that he's not running. Maybe he should be head of the FDA. That seems like a much better fit.

I thought I might elicit a response from you today, Dr. Eades! LOL! And THANK YOU for sharing your comments about Dr. Paul. I think you're right about him being a different kind of candidate and he certainly has some enthusiastic followers. I'd love to see him perform well just to shake up the status quo with the good ole boy network.

While it would be neat to see you or someone of your caliber elected POTUS or to even RUN for office to give low-carb the platform it deserves for weight and health management, I'm just not seeing anyone giving much credence to this issue at all on the national, state, or even local level. I'm pining for a candidate who gives a rip about the future health of our nation.

Hey Jimmy--

Thanks for the nomination. I'm truly flattered. But, I don't think I'm your man. My personality type (personality disorder?) wouldn't work well for me in that position. If I somehow got elected, I fear it would be a race to see if I would put a bullet in my own head before I put one in the heads of half the idiots in Washington. I'm neither a great compromiser nor a sufferer of fools gladly, so I don't think I would do well in the job.

Having said that I would like to add my voice to those who support Dr. Ron Paul. I believe Ron Paul to be by far and away the best candidate running for President. Although I don't see eye to eye with him on every issue (I do on most, but there are a couple where we are at odds), I believe he is a man of immense character. And, like Plato, I would much rather have a person of exemplary character whom I may not necessarily agree with on each issue in office than one of less character whom I agreed with completely. Presidents are elected to lead us through trying times and through events we can't even imagine (who would have thought of 9/11 even on 9/10?). The coming years will be filled with unpredictable events, and I would rather have someone at the helm that I can trust to do the right thing. And there is no one I would rather have than Ron Paul. He has shown by his tenacious adherence to his own principles during his many years in office that he can be counted upon not to flip flop or follow the crowd or his own party's dictates, but to do what is right.

Another thing I like about Dr. Paul is that for the first time in a long, long time someone has inspired the level of commitment among the young people and the formerly politically indifferent that he has. I suspect that the unremitting phone calls you're getting aren't coming from the official Ron Paul campaign, but from groups of non-paid political do-it-yourselfers who are for the first time enthusiastic about a candidate. God bless 'em.

Thanks for the nomination and thanks for giving me the space to ramble on about Dr. Paul.

If somehow I get elected thanks to a massive write-in vote driven by your blog, I'll appoint you as head of the FDA, then we can really have some fun.

Although, if he's president, he could nominate the positions for all these cabinet members--and YOU could very well be one of them! Wouldn't that be a hoot?! ;)
