Friday Friday Friday Friday Friday! Did I mention it’s Friday? Yep, I think I did and you know what that means–it’s “Fun-Filled Friday” again and I’ve got a bunch of things to share this week. HAVE FUN!!!
First up is a promotional video from my friend Dr. Brian Wansink, author of Mindless Eating and the former USDA Director Of Nutrition Policy And Promotion. To make the MyPyramid.gov information more palatable to the general public, Dr. Wansink created a series of YouTube videos promoting how to implement it into their daily lives. Take a look and see:
I’m looking forward to interviewing Dr. Wansink on Monday for my podcast show in August about the current dietary guidelines panel and how woefully inadequate the low-carb representation was on that committee this year. He’s gonna have a lot to say about that I’m sure! Speaking of the American diet, did you hear about what happened to the famous David stone statue after two years of touring the United States? Something rather predictable happened upon returning to Italy.
We laugh, but oh how true it is, right? By the way, have you heard about the latest strain of evildoing to hit the world? It’s spreading like wildfire and it’s potentially dangerous to your health? What is it? Learn all about it here! It’s virtually impossible to avoid.
So, what is a day in the life of a diabetic life? Let’s see what Kerri Morrone Sparling from the “Six Until Me” blog (and who is celebrating her one-year wedding anniversary this week–CONGRATS!) has to say in this all-too-real video about living with diabetes.
Have you ever wondered what “sensory overload” looks, feels, and sounds like to someone who has autism, for example? It might be difficult for most people to understand, but the brain of someone with impaired function processes things differently than most. My blog reader Tom Bunnell asks if maybe carbohydrates can cause this kind of “sensory overload” to happen, too. It’s curious food for thought!
Finally, I have a YouTube video of Dr. Doug McGuff, author of Body By Science who recently appeared on my podcast show to discuss his philosophy regarding low-carb nutrition and slow weight lifting. I saw a similar lecture from him at a local Barnes & Noble book signing event he hosted in South Carolina and I think you’ll enjoy what you hear from him as well.
Deebudeebudeeb….that’s all folks for this “Fun-Filled Friday!” THANKS so much for reading and participating in the awesomeness that is livin’ la vida low-carb. Have an outstanding weekend! E-mail me anytime at livinlowcarbman@charter.net.
