The forecast for this weekend in my neck of the woods here in South Carolina is snow mixed with sleet, freezing rain, and lots of ice. Icky poo! But that’s not gonna damper this edition of “Fun-Filled Friday” because we gots lots to talk about and share today. Who knows, maybe I’ll get into another snow fight with my neighbor’s kid Rachel like I did with the last snow we had in March 2009:
Did you hear about the new Apple product this week that made headlines called the iPad? Kinda funny for a name of an electronics device that’s supposed to revolutionize the world of communications forever, don’t ya think? Well, MadTV sure thought so a few years back when they did a parody using that very name:
OMG, that’s just too funny! Didn’t the folks at Apple KNOW this was out there and yet they STILL insisted on calling it that? Dopes! And, you know, somebody else isn’t too happy with the new iPad either. Have you heard Hitler weigh in on it yet?
I LOVE those videos…very creative stuff! Speaking of that, have you seen the “Dancing Inmates” from The Phillipines? These guys are incredible doing choreography to Michael Jackson’s “This Is It”:
WOW! That “peace” symbol at the end sent chills up and down my spine. MJ would be proud. Hey, by the way, have you seen that new Walmart commercial on television yet with the dad in the clown’s outfit? This is one of the funniest marketing pieces they’ve ever done:
What makes it so raucously hilarious is I can see a little girl’s dad doing that. Did you notice how the daughter didn’t scream and run away when daddy went berzerko in front of all of her friends? If it was real, she’d probably be in shock with what happened. Kinda like this woman on “The Price Is Right” this week after she saw a brand new car in the Showcase Showdown:
She ended up winning TWO cars on the show, too! Quick, somebody throw some pillows behind her. While he’s a spoiled little brat, this kid from the TV show “Wife Swap” had a great line where he said “bacon is good for me”:
That boy needs a good whipping, but then I’d feed him all the bacon he wants. At least the kid doesn’t have OCD like this poor USPS mailman who probably stood there doing this all day:
WOW! I do believe he’s in the wrong profession. Maybe he could work in a grocery store going around reading food labels all day:
Former NBA basketball star John Salley is right: “If you can’t read it, you shouldn’t eat it.” GOOD STUFF and sage advice. Similarly, we just just say NO to GMO:
Stunning, shocking, and so very true! Makes you wanna stick with organic foods, right? Before I finish up this post, I wanted to tell you about a great fundraising effort for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti earlier this month from a lady named Evelyne who is a talented photographer. She has created some outstanding photo desk calendars and donating 100% of the profits to Partners in Health for earthquake relief. Help a good cause and get a beautiful calendar in return!
That’s it for this “Fun-Filled Friday.” Hopefully I’m not iced in all weekend or lose my power. Whatever happens will happen and I’ll be ready for it no matter what. THANKS for reading and we’ll catch you again soon.
