I too lost a brother (actually a brother in law) in July of 2008 from what eventually was a prescription drug addiction and cardiac arrest but started out as a severe obesity problem (505 lbs) and then gastric bypass and back surgery. We were able to donate organs and we know of one donor that was able to live a much better life because of a liver transplant. Life goes on but we miss the smiles and get togethers, memories are precious.I just wanted to say I thought your tribute was beautiful and the perfect way to honor a life. My mother died at 55, after complications from diabetes had kept her in a nursing home for five years. Before she died she had had toes amputated and went blind, suffered many heart attacks and a stroke. All because of diabetes. I know for sure that will not happen to ME.
