And we’ll have fun, fun, fun on Fridays because it’s here once again–”Fun-Filled Friday” at the “Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb” blog. I’ve only got three things for you this week, but they’re goodies! Here we go:
Did you know the famous Oscar award-winning actress Halle Berry was cured of Type 1 diabetes and converted into a Type 2 diabetic? This was one of the strangest revelations I’ve ever seen about health in my life. Check it out for yourself in the following video:
She’s probably been insulin resistant and pre-diabetic most of her life, but I doubt she ever had Type 1 diabetes because her body wouldn’t be able to produce any insulin on its own. As a Type 2 diabetic, she DESPERATELY needs to start livin’ la vida low-carb. Halle should take this quiz to test how much she REALLY knows about diabetes.
Speaking of eating low-carb, one of the coolest videos I’ve seen on YouTube lately is the following one featuring a colony of ants feasting on a dead gecko. The fast-motion time elapsed video shows you in a short amount of time how these small critters break down such a big feast to store up enough food to last them for months (all the way down to the bone). This is utterly AMAZING!
Finally, in the spirit of March Madness with the NCAA college basketball tournament going on right now, our friends at the “So Good” blog have gotten creative and made their own unique brackets for something they are describing as MEAT MADNESS (click on the image below to print out your bracket):
That’s right, we’re choosing the king of all meats in a head-to-head elimination round format. 32 meats face off and the champion will be crowned in the next few weeks. There are four regions in this competition, including The “Red” Meat Region, the Poultry Region, the Pork Region and the Seafood Region. Cast your vote for what meat should move on and which ones need to be sent packing. This is a low-carbolicious way to celebrate March Madness, don’t ya think?
Short and sweet this week, but that’s okay because we’ll be back again with more “Fun-Filled Friday” stuff next week. Send me anything you think would be appropriate for a future post anytime at email@example.com. Have a most AWESOME weekend, ya’ll! SEE YA!
