Here’s what Jimmy and Charlotte talked about in Episode 32:

– As a child having a sweet tooth

– A sugar addict when young, even though she was thin

– Health deteriorated at age 22

– Lost her dad to cancer very suddenly at 20 and the stress & shock of it along with poor diet led to irregular periods, phases of depression, bad skin, poor digestion and a general weakened immune system

– Got to a point where she felt like she was dying

– Home from work for a week and prayed to God that she would not die

– Soon came across the paleo diet and began learning about Candida and the effects that toxins, sugar, and lifestyle can have on the body

– Giving up sugar/carbs was probably one of the hardest things she had to do in her life but from feeling so sick she knew her health was the most important thing

– had a lot of body fat compared to bone mass having slowly crept up from UK 6 to size UK 10 by the time she reached 23/24

– Discovered fasting and began to get her health back

– realized that with fasting, especially for women it’s important to keep your body fat within a healthy percentage for your frame. I also

– Realized she could fast naturally when increasing her fats and not having to worry about body weight if I am nourishing myself well enough with good quality protein,  (i.e. Fully pastured meat) healthy fats and vegetables which are mostly above ground and nothing too

– If nourishing well enough with good quality protein,  (i.e. Fully pastured meat) healthy fats and vegetables which are mostly above ground and nothing too starchy I still eat carbs every now and then i.e. Blueberries / sweet

– Still eats carbs every now and then i.e. Blueberries / sweet potato but from understanding her body so much now she needs very little

– Within just 6 weeks of switching to a ketogenic diet, her menstrual cycle returned and has been on time ever since. It’s the best it’s been since 22 (5 years ago)
