THANKS Tess! This isn't a YouTube video, it's a Google video. But I'm sorry you can't see it. Unfortunately, there is not a transcript for it yet and it would be very long to type out. I'd try to do it but it would take me a VERY long time working on it for hours a day. Maybe someone who is good at transcribing will come to your rescue. I hope you get to see what Gary Taubes said. :)

We know that it takes a bushel of wheat or a bushel of rye to make a quart of Whisky and we know that it takes a bushel of potatoes to make a quart of Vodka and we know that this 'Alcohol' is a potent powerful life altering Drug. -- We also know that this drug is the highest form of carbohydrates. -- I would liken it to Cocaine(which we also know is a full strength man made drug). We know too that this process(carbohydrates to alcohol) is a 'modern man' and 'science' discovery and process.(a several thousands of years of 'modern man' process)! The natives took the Cocaine leaves and chewed them with limes to make the drug cocaine, though to a far lesser strength. -- So drugs is drugs is drugs -- potent drugs. -- Man made drugs! -- So why is it so hard for us to understand that this 'potent drug'(alcohol)made from 'Hybrid Wheat' and 'Hybrid Potatoes' is nothing more than a more potent form of a weaker but equally powerful drug(carbohydrates) like the 'Cocaine' leaves with limes are to the Cocaine or simply to eat the leaves without the lime! -- Sugar. -- We could say that our digestive system then converts these hybrid drugs(carbohydrates) into our blood stream and then throughout our bodies when we eat them! -- Then we can say that the effects of these 'potent powerful drugs' have created our societies as we know them, and altered our existence, and not just altered but altered to a PROFOUND DEGREE, our existence! -- All this to say that modern carbohydrates are man made and bred drugs like speed! -- Stimulant drugs that effect our persons and our bodies and our beings to a profound degree!

Female age 30 - extreme fat deposits on thighs - huge thighs -:
This girl drank sugar soft drinks by the gallon daily - every day I knew her - she a had a gallon thermos jug she filled up every day at the local 7-11 or maverick -

2. Female age 20 - excess and stretched out stomach fat - otherwise quite cute:
Ate bags of candy daily - every day - wanted to become a pole dancer/stripper -

I told her to drop the idea - because that stretched out fat stomach just wouldn't cut it - she hated me -

3. Female age 22 - 20 pounds overweight - fat deposited fairly evenly - wonderful personality -:
Always had some sort of candy bars or sugar and sugar soft drinks with her lunch -

4. Shoppers at store - some fat - some thin -:
They all had one thing in common - they never seemed to buy real food - it was always some kind of processed crap -

Processed crap with sugar in it - which their fat wife or fat kid or fat husband was sure to eat too much of -

Does Low Carb Make You Stupid ?

Taubes: 20 pounds overweight
Jimmy Moore: 60 pounds overweight

To begin: Gary in the video – looks 20 pounds overweight – he obviously is –

Jimmy Moore is 60 pounds overweight – period – however – considering his loose skin problem – his current weight might be a good compromise -

Taubes Conclusions ?
His conclusions do not add up -

He looks at poor people and how the kids are skinny and starving and yet how their mothers are fat and apparently well fed – and tells us that due to motherly love – these mothers certainly would not be keeping food from their kids and instead eating it them selfs – so their must be something magical going on – with the skinny kids/fat mothers thing

Get real Taubes -

There are millions of people who have lost weight on a restricted high carb diet -

millions and millions

according to Taubes – they shouldn’t have – to much insulin to lose fat -

Taubes theory about insulin does not work on a restricted calorie high carb diet -

Excessive calorie intake combined with high carb intake might make sense – however – some people in the far east eat a high carb diet of 4000 calories – and their thin -

So his theory doesn’t work here either -

His theory about insulin only seems to work – perhaps/maybe – on people who have become insulin resistant eating empty processed foods -

and

It indeed works on a very high calorie diet and very low carb diet in preventing fat deposition -

My own personal opinion is this -

Excess calories from any source when combined with extremely heat processed sugars – white table sugar or fructose – result in immediate fat deposition -

The more refined sugar – the more fat that is deposited -

This is how people get fat – it’s the sugar – not the mirrors -

and sense it is commonly fat or sugar itself that pushes the calories over the top – ?

Taubes wants the world to stop eating carbs for what reason then ?

He’s 20 pounds overweight and Jimmy Moore’s 60 pounds overweight – Why ? – is this so great ?

If Low Carb makes the people using it think being 20 to 60 pounds overweight is some how the ‘new thin’ –

then I can only wonder what it is doing to their brains ?

apparently it seems – beans/wheat/and other seeds may be needed for proper brain function -

Dieting and calorie restriction of some sort is needed to lose fat deposits – sometimes high protein combined with weight lifting and a normal calorie intake will shift fat deposits – tricky at best I think though –

Low Carb does one thing well by design – it gets rid of sugar -

Sugar is the most expensive food additive known – as dentist’s make about 500 dollars an hour and a mouth of sugar rotted teeth needs about 40,000 dollars to repair properly -

But that’s sugar – not wheat – not rice – not beans – not lentils – not millet – not barley -

it’s the sugar –

and not the mirrors

Some of my own observations of fat people -

1. Female age 30 – extreme fat deposits on thighs – huge thighs -:
This girl drank sugar soft drinks by the gallon daily – every day I knew her – she a had a gallon thermos jug she filled up every day at the local 7-11 or maverick -

2. Female age 20 – excess and stretched out stomach fat – otherwise quite cute:
Ate bags of candy daily – every day – wanted to become a pole dancer/stripper -

I told her to drop the idea – because that stretched out fat stomach just wouldn’t cut it – she hated me -

3. Female age 22 – 20 pounds overweight – fat deposited fairly evenly – wonderful personality -:
Always had some sort of candy bars or sugar and sugar soft drinks with her lunch -

4. Shoppers at store – some fat – some thin -:
They all had one thing in common – they never seemed to buy real food – it was always some kind of processed crap –

Processed crap with sugar in it – which their fat wife or fat kid or fat husband was sure to eat too much of –

THANKS Rachel! Peanut butter is LOADED with sugar, so I bet you'd see an improvement in your weight if you cut it out of your diet. Be sure to eat more fat when you reduce carbs and the metabolic advantage of livin' la vida low-carb will happen. The best part is your lipid profile will vastly improve while you lose that 10 pounds. :)
