Four Amazing Low-Carb Television Interviews In One Week

Last week was a banner one for me and the “Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb” message. It was an honor to be able to share with literally millions of people about healthy low-carb living through four amazing television appearances — two local in the Greenville/Spartanburg, SC market and two national. It’s ironic that all of these happened within a one-week stretch, but that’s the way it happens sometimes I suppose.

Since so many of you have been asking me to post these videos so you can see them, I finally have them all up on YouTube now. ENJOY!

WSPA-TV’s “Scene On 7″ — “Cool Jobs” segment — January 26, 2010

WHNS-TV’s FOX Carolina — January 26, 2010

FOX News Channel’s “Your World With Neil Cavuto” — January 26, 2010

CNBC-TV’s dLife Diabetes Life — January 31, 2010

I’m so honored and privileged to be able to share with the world about what a high-fat, moderate-protein, and low-carb nutritional approach looks like and will proudly represent this amazing way of eating anytime I am asked to talk about it in the media! Special THANKS to WSPA, WHNS, FOX News, and dLife for giving me these sensational opportunities. I stand ready anytime, anywhere to spread the good news of livin’ la vida low-carb to the masses!

OK Jimmy, first time ever I have been dissapointed in you. OMG how can you tell anyone to find a diet that works for them when you know full well that chances are very high that a low fat diet will lead ANYONE down the road to Diabetes, heart disease and a host of other ailments! You know better my friend. If they choose a low fat diet that works for them and it’s low fat, they will spread that low fat is good garbage around even when their healyth starts to fail. And you KNOW most people on a low fat diet that start getting sick don’t blame their diet because to them it’s “WORKING”! Weight loss is one thing, health is another. For their health, NEVER say that crap again! LIVE WHAT YOU PREACH AND PREACH WHAT YOU LIVE!!!! Livin la vida low carb buddy, no backing up!!!!

Thanks so much for your comments, Dusty. But there’s no need to be disappointed in me. What I shared in these interviews and especially on dLife is what I’ve been saying for the past six years.

The rationale behind telling people to find what works for them is this: giving people permission to look at low-carb as an option is huge. Too often it is ostracized as extreme and dangerous when low-fat and vegetarian plans are given the health halo. Proponents of those diet plans exclude low-carb from the discussion entirely.

So the crux of what I share is for people to find the plan that works for them, follow that plan exactly as prescribed, and then keep doing it forever. Most people who have failed on all those low-fat diets over the years will jump at the chance to start livin’ la vida low-carb.

I appreciate you sharing your concerns, but would love to know if others share your disdain. Thanks again!

Jimmy. Bravo, sir! Good work. I’ll just bet you have many more opportunities to share on TV. Just don’t forget your internet groupies when you become a big TV/Movie star. And, just for the record, I don’t share Dusty’s opinion. And I do share your reasoning. Keep up the good work.

Thanks so much, Cathy! I consider it the highest honor to be asked about why I love low-carb. Looking forward to the next opportunity.

    Jimmy,

I guess the issue here is that you are trapped between a hard place and a rock – you got two or three minutes of air time and that is not enough to really say anything substantial. Although I do not agree with your given advice of finding a diet that works for oneself rather than show that the low carb lifestyle is superior in so many ways, nonetheless , the hope is that you made enough of an impression that viewers will go to your website & see for themselves the depth and breadth of what you have to really say about the low carb life.

    Keep up the good fight.

Thanks Dominic! While there is limited time on television to make your points as you note, I’ve said as much many times before about finding what works for the individual. As strongly as I believe low-carb is right for me, I believe the final decider about whether low-carb will be for someone is left to that person. Of course I think low-carb should be the first dietary option and then adjust from there. But I couldn’t say all that in the interview. Thank you again!

Wow you are very successful. I am very happy for you.

Here’s hoping this leads to bigger and better things, Nancy.

Great Jimmy, and thanks for being so moderate and not giving a fanatic view of low-carb. I believe that is a more effective way and hopefully brings more people to read and try to find out this way of life. Your podcasts are great. I dont know how you manage to get hold of these people and the interviews are very addictive.

    Great work.

I appreciate it, Thania! Better to be addicted to my podcasts than sugar and carbs. ;)

  • Jimmy, you have a lot of television charisma! No wonder they have been knocking down your door to film you. Great job spreading the low carb message. It’s because of people like you that I found this lifestyle! Way to go!

THANK YOU, Lupe! I do LOVE it! :D

    –Jimmy

  • Good job! It was great to see us low carbers as not being wackos. People always think we are just a bunch nuts. At least you come across as being a (albeit slender) average joe.

THANKS Alisha! Tried to do low-carb proud.

  • Steve L.

Wow! I don’t know how you pulled off that economy/diet exchange with Neil Cavuto. That was amazing on-the-fly stuff. You were great on all of these. Thanks for posting the videos. Lost me a little at the end of dLife, but I understand ya gotta dance with who brung ya. And I don’t think most people realize what a pressure cooker these appearances can be.

Thanks Steve! The Cavuto one was a stretch, but I was grateful for the exposure. On dLife, my final point was that we should all have the choice between what dietary path will work for us. Low-carb, low-fat, or vegetarian…choose the one that’s right for YOU! Thanks for your comments.

    Hi Jimmy

    You are a STAR!!
And your reasoning is clever. “If you can’t beat them – join them!”
Or at least say they may be right even if you know they aren’t. I think that is smart! Hopefully, LC will soon be accepted, and then the world owes you big time!

    THANK YOU, May!

    –Jimmy

  • Congrats, man. They have good reasons for coming to you for interviews.

    -Steve

    THANKS so much, Steve!
