Legendary newsman Bill Kurtis is now a grass-fed beef advocate
Regardless of how old you are, there’s little doubt you have heard the voice of one of this generation’s most highly-recognized television journalists and voiceover actors named Bill Kurtis. In fact, here’s his most recent television commercial you’ve probably seen this year advertising the AT&T LaptopConnect Card:
In Episode 175 of “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore,” we get to hear from this legendary CBS News journalist and A&E host about his original passion in life that drives what he does today–raising cattle to provide healthy grass-fed beef to consumers. He founded a company called the Tallgrass Beef Company to educate about why grass-fed is far superior to grain-fed beef, including lower amounts of LDL fats, the rich presence of omega-3 essential fatty acids, the lack of E. coli bacteria in the gut (and on the meat of) cattle, reduction in antibiotic exposure and more. Enjoy the soothing sound of Bill Kurtis’ voice as he gets back to his Kansas roots talking about raising cows for beef production.

In December 2007, Bill released a book entitled The Prairie Table Cookbook to tell the history behind the Tallgrass Beef Company and how the original settlers of the land there went about producing high-quality, grass-fed beef. For you television and history buffs, you’ll be interested in knowing that the “Little House On The Prairie” is located on this land owned by Bill Kurtis. It’s a property steep in history that is still making an impact today.

How about what you heard from Bill Kurtis today? Has he convinced you to stop eating your grain-fed beef and switch to grass-fed? Discuss your thoughts on this subject in the show notes section of Episode 175. I’ve blogged about the benefits of grass-fed beef before and so perhaps the Tallgrass Beef Company can fit the bill for your healthy low-carb lifestyle needs. Special THANK YOU to Bill Kurtis for his generous donation of time for my interview with him today.
Come back on Thursday when I’ll be sharing my interview with former Olympic-trained athlete Mark Sisson from “Mark’s Daily Apple” talking about the incredible work he is doing today promoting healthy low-carb living. DON’T MISS IT!!!

Thanks for posting the article, was certainly a great read!
Thanks Jimmy
How did you get through the interview without cracking up? I am still laughing.
Does Bill Kurtis’ voice make you laugh, Scott?
–Jimmy
