Want to have a good laugh today? Watch this video of “Steven the Vegan”:
ROTFL! You know, we laugh at a humorous video like this, but can’t you just see a vegan reacting that way with such fire-breathing anger that anyone would dare ask WHY they would ever eat that way? No wonder recent study found vegans to be less intelligent than their meat-eating counterparts. They could really use some animal fat in their diet!
The most interesting aspect of veganism to me is the fact that so many of them have become so deeply entrenched in their hatred for anyone who would even think about eating an animal product that they have lost sight of why they eat that way to begin with. Instead, they simply want to get all upset and whine whenever they are challenged on their diet.
But, I’m not opposed to hearing from dissenting voices about what I said in my podcast show about vegans today, so please share your reaction to Episode 32 today. If you support a vegan or even vegetarian lifestyle and think you can clearly articulate why you do without making some derogatory comments about the late great Dr. Robert C. Atkins and the low-carb diet that he endorsed (like calling people “morons” for doing the Atkins diet), then I’m all ears. Hit me with your best shot, baby!

To go vegan or not to go vegan really isn’t a question in my mind. It’s a no-brainer to me because there is no way I would have EVER lost over 180 pounds had it not been for all those delicious and nutritious animal fat-laden meats I have consumed over the past three years. Mmm mmm!
That’s just a fact that the anti-meat activists are gonna have to deal with. While these people want low-carbers to convince them eating meat is healthy, I simply respond to that by stating convince me it is not.

I appreciate you listening to “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore” today. A special welcome to the people visiting today from the Greenville/Spartanburg, SC area who saw my podcast show featured on the news last night. I’m not usually THIS fired up about a topic, but sometimes it takes a little passion to stir people up a bit so they’ll stop and think about what is most important to them. That’s something you’ll always get from me!
This podcast show airs on Mondays and Thursdays right here as well as on iTunes and I invite you to come back again next week when once again we will dive head-first into the wonderful world of livin’ la vida low-carb! SEE YA!

Most Vegan’s believe that eating animal flesh is both barbaric and unhealthy. Yet they eat mostly nothing but babies and see nothing wrong with that. Tom
What you’ll get is a bunch of people telling you that if only everyone would become vegetarian, hunger would disappear from this planet because it takes more vegetation to feed animals than it does to feed humans, or some such. But the reality is that this paradigm only works in a world where petrochemical products are cheap and unsustainable giant agri-business does all the farming. For sustainable farming, animal inputs of manure and such are indispensable, and the animals can eat the cover-crops needful for soil replenishment. Usually, these are not suitable for humans. And one other thing: in real life, most land is not arable in many parts of the world, and the only way you’re going to get a reliable food source from those lands is to have some goat eat all the useless scrub and weeds and then you eat the goat. You never hear about that vegetarians or vegans. They imagine commercial factory farming can solve every problem.
@ahavah bat sarah: you just hit the nail on the head, so to speak! I heard all these so-called vegan arguments before, too, and they are absolutely looney: indeed there is no way we could sustain a civilization without animal products. There is simply not enough land (let alone other natural resources) to feed everybody from veggies alone. We would all be starving if these people had their way. Not to mention the already proven and well-documented detrimental effects it would have on health.
The most horrible, however, I find radical groups like PETA. Did you know that PETA is directly responsible (and admitted to it!) for the killing of tens of thousands of animals? That’s PETA’s dirty little secret, isn’t it – that’s something our friends in the media hardly ever report on.
If the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) were ever to reach its goal and impose “total animal liberation” on the rest of us, meat and dairy foods would become things of the past. The same goes for zoos, aquariums, rodeos, circuses, hunting, fishing, leather, wool, silk, and even lifesaving medical research that requires the use of lab rats.
Hypocrisy is the mother of all credibility problems, and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has it in spades. While loudly complaining about the “unethical” treatment of animals by restaurant owners, grocers, farmers, scientists, anglers, and countless other Americans, the group has its own dirty little secret.
Since 1998, PETA–whose many tasteless campaigns included one telling young children (including a very graphic, tasteless poster) that “Your Mommy Kills Animals”–has killed thousands of animals at its Virginia headquarters, rather than spending a portion of its enormous multi-million-dollar annual budget actually caring for them.
For example, from July 1998 through the end of 2003 alone, PETA killed over 10,000 dogs, cats, and other “companion animals” at its Norfolk, Virginia headquarters. That’s more than five defenseless animals every day. Not counting the dogs and cats PETA spayed and neutered, the group put to death over 85 percent of the animals it took in during 2003 alone. And its angel-of-death pattern shows no sign of changing.
Mind you, these are their own official figures!
On its 2002 federal income-tax return, PETA claimed a $9,370 write-off for a giant walk-in freezer, the kind most people use as a meat locker or for ice-cream storage. But animal-rights activists don’t eat meat or dairy foods. So far, the group hasn’t confirmed the obvious, namely that it’s using the appliance to store the bodies of its victims.
In 2000, when the Associated Press first noted PETA’s Kervorkian-esque tendencies, PETA president Ingrid Newkirk complained that actually taking care of animals costs more than killing them. “We could become a no-kill shelter immediately,” she admitted.
So indeed, by their own admission, PETA kills animals. Because it has other financial priorities.
PETA enjoys over $29 million in annual income, much of it raised from pet owners who think their donations actually help animals. Instead, the group spends huge sums on programs equating people who eat chicken with Nazis, scaring young children away from drinking milk, recruiting children into the radical animal-rights lifestyle, and intimidating businessmen and their families in their own neighborhoods. PETA has also spent tens of thousands of dollars defending arsonists and other violent extremists.
PETA claims it engages in outrageous media-seeking stunts “for the animals.” But which animals? Carping about the value of future two-piece dinners while administering lethal injections to puppies and kittens isn’t ethical. It’s hypocritical–with a death toll that PETA would protest if it weren’t their own doing.
PETA kills animals, while its leaders dare to lecture the rest of us.
soy, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, butternuts, brazil nuts, lots of other nuts/seeds etc – it’s possible to do a low carb AND vegan diet. it’s just a little bit more difficult since shops don’t cater for it. i found all of those foods within a few seconds on http://www.nutritiondata.com.
ethically killing animals for food is wrong, we are the supreme beings on this planet and we do things which aren’t natural every day because they advance humanity. not eating animals is something we can do which isn’t entirely natural, but would be an advancement of our culture.
we are in a position where we can be more compassionate than we have historically. being co-operative will become more prominent in the future as the fallacy of individual units all competing ala game theory is unfolding via the current capitalism crisis. darwin wins – that is, we are evolving. a machine can do far more than a bunch of cogs.
historically we ate a lot less animals – at the very least we shouldn’t eat so many of them.
low carb is a valid and effective approach to weight loss but it’s not the only approach that works.
below is a clinical study finding that non-meat eaters are thinner than meat-eaters:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9622343
of course i could probably find you a study that found bacon roly poly eaters were thinner than everyone too, most people misunderstand how scientific studies really work, including doctors and scientists. they should be approached with skeptism rather than blind faith so lets look at it with common sense – how many fat vegans do you know?
if you google “are vitamin supplements good for you” most of the pages are news articles saying taking vitamin suppliments make you die younger. further digging reveals that these news articles are about mega-dose of specific antioxidant vitamins and not your daily multivitamin. that’s an example of the media distorting information.
if you google for information about “veganism is healthy” and other queries a lot of the results are media stories about children becoming ill on a vegan diet. if you dig further into these stories you will find that the children were not fed a nutritionally balanced diet and almost 100% of the time didn’t eat enough protein. the media preferred to be sensationalist about it to stir up controversy by not pointing this out or reponsibly providing information to vegan parents on how to add enough protein to their kids diet. perhaps it would have lowered their ratings or reduced their time available for drinking beer and fiddling with their scrotums.
those stories are about malnutrition – if you fed a kid on nothing but beef they would die too, albeit more slowly since beef contains protein. the parents were very irresponsible and no doubt there are a lot of other intellectually challenged vegans in the world starving their kids so it was right of the media to draw attention to it, but wrong they way they did it.
bottom line – there are adequate rebuttals for all your anti vegan points there. oh, full disclosure: i’m not a vegan
THANKS for your comments! But I’m not opposed to anyone doing a vegan low-carb diet if they want…it’s just that they are missing out on good nutrition from consuming animal fat and protein.
