It’s another long holiday weekend as the United States of America celebrates Independence Day on July 4th this Monday. This annual event allows us to celebrate the tremendous freedoms our forefathers fought so valiantly for which culminated into an historic moment in world history some 235 years ago! I get teary-eyed emotional when I think about the idea of having the freedoms that we are privileged to enjoy because of the blood-bought sacrifices of the brave men and women in our armed forces who have defended our rights from the founding of this country. There’s nothing greater than being proud of your heritage and what it means to be an American. Sure, we’ll disagree from time to time on issues that are important to us–but that’s the essence of the American spirit. Regardless of what you think about our government, its leaders, or the current direction our country is taking, there’s still a lot to be proud about in the United States. Let’s stand up and cheer for the good old red, white and blue and all that it stands for while we’re grilling out and having a great time this weekend!
Well, I was supposed to be getting ready to be away for most of next week at the 5-Day MovNat event in West Virginia with Erwan Le Corre and his team (including special guests Diane Sanfillipo and one of my readers Cate S. from North Carolina who won the grand prize in my blogiversary contest in April). But as I recently shared in this blog post, my wife Christine and I are going through an embryo adoption trying one final time to biologically have children of our own (we may consider traditional adoption later, but we wanted to do this procedure before discussing alternatives). We find out on Tuesday, July 6, 2011 if she got pregnant from the embryo transfer that took place last Wednesday. Lots of prayers and happy thoughts have been thrown in our direction and we’re hopeful for the best. We know that God is in control and that His Will is at work in all things. Regardless of what happens, we’re just ready to find out the verdict in just a few more days. And I NEEDED to be here for that to console Christine if it’s a negative or to take her to more doctor visits and celebrate this miracle if it works. I’ll definitely keep you posted regardless (and you can keep up with it in real time on my Facebook page).
All that said, I had planned on releasing another one of my big Paleo, low-carb, and health blogs listings for a while now. They’ve been piling up and it’s time to let ‘em loose so you can enjoy these truly amazing blogs for yourself. As always, they’re a healthy mix of new and interesting blogs that vary in style and complexity. There are medical doctors, dietitians, Atkins enthusiasts, Paleo and primal champions, recipes bloggers, diabetics, and so much more! Visit their sites, check ‘em out, and leave a comment if you see something worth responding to. Nothing thrills a new blogger more than to see a comment from a reader. Trust me, you’ll make their day. Be sure to tell ‘em you found their blog at “Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb!”
I’ve been doing this “pay it forward” type of link love for several years now to help spread the good news about other people doing a great job of continuing the conversation about healthy living. You can check ‘em all about by clicking here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here.

Did you like these blogs? Don’t forget to TELL THEM by leaving a comment. It sounds so simple, but there’s nothing better than that when you are a blogger. It’s the payoff for the time and energy invested in writing new posts. You’ll probably spur them to write more often if you become engaged in their work. Try it and see! And if you or someone you know has a low-carb, Paleo or health blog or web site that you’d like to see featured in a future blog post here at “Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb,” then I’d love to know about it. E-mail me the name of the blog and the URL to livinlowcarbman@charter.net so I can add it to my next big blog update in a few months. If you’ve been successful in your weight and health eating a healthy high-fat, moderate protein, low-carb diet, then you should consider starting your own low-carb blog to pass the message on to a world desperate for answers. Who knows, you could be the difference-maker in the life of someone else who is struggling because you decided to care enough to share. If you do, don’t forget to let me know about it so I can feature your blog. Have a GREAT Independence Day weekend and we’ll be back next week with more great stuff to share about the healthy low-carb lifestyle!
