50 Low-Carb, Paleo & Health Blogs For February 2011

The continued explosion of growth in the low-carb, Paleo and health blogosphere never ceases to amaze me as more and more people are catching the bug to start journaling their own personal journey to better health that has very little to do with the high-carb, low-fat diet that’s been heavily promoted as the “healthy” way to eat for decades. Even as the ominous 2010 Dietary Guidelines were released this week, the reality is a whole lot of people just ain’t buying it anymore. They realize they’ve been purposely lied to by propagandists hiding behind the veil of science when espousing what the optimal nutritional approach should be–and they’re not gonna take it anymore! That’s what it’s gonna take for REAL change to happen in America and the Internet is where the front lines of this important battle will take place in the years to come. The more bloggers, podcasters, and YouTube video makers we have promoting the message of livin’ la vida low-carb as an option for people struggling with their weight and health, the tide will begin to turn in a way we haven’t seen in my lifetime. EXCITING STUFF!

I’ve got a big stack of 50 low-carb, Paleo and health blogs to share with you today and it seems like I’m publishing these lists a lot more often than I ever have before. Generally I wait until I’m going away on a business trip or vacation somewhere to post a big blog listing like this, but I’m just overflowing with so many it was time for me to share these with you as soon as possible. There’s a nice mix of low-carbers sharing their success, Paleo/low-carb recipes, menu ideas from people eating this way, and even some thought provokers who are sure to get you to think more intently about your own diet, fitness and health. I’m honored to share these bloggers with you because they are doing incredible sacrificial work to help their readers attain the most optimal health possible. Please support them by at least clicking on the links to their blog and giving them a quick look-see. And if you see something you like, then by all means leave them a comment or e-mail them directly. I’ll tell you right now, that will make their day!

In case you’ve missed any of my previous low-carb, Paleo and health blog listings, be sure to check ‘em all out by clicking here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here and here.

Got a favorite low-carb, Paleo or health blog that you’d like to see featured in a future blog post? E-mail the name of the blog and corresponding URL to livinlowcarbman@charter.net. I’m always thrilled to give attention to bloggers who are contributing to the discussion of ideas about low-carb diets from the basic recipe blog to the ones that go all philosophical about carbohydrate-restriction. It’s my way of paying it forward to those who helped me get to the place I am today. THANK YOU again for spending just a few moments to visit each of these blogs. You don’t realize just how much the increase in traffic to these sites will mean to these bloggers.

You know what, I can stand up, guilty as charged about the high-carb, low fat diet thing. In fact I just posted recently on my own blog condoning it. I have just begun to learn more about the Paleo diet, and I’m getting more and more intrigued the more I learn. I’m human, and like most people, we don’t change overnight. Thanks for providing all of these useful links to blogs where I can learn more about Paleo.

  • http://PrimalFood.wordpress.com Robert J. Stone

Jimmy, I really appreciated being included on your list! Thank you SO much!

PrimalFood has only been around since January 1st, and your mention gave me an unexpected (and MOST welcome) boost in traffic. I am currently running something I call “The Experiment” where for the next 3 months I (and whoever else wants to join me) will post pictures and weights every week on our quest to lose a bit of baby fat. It just started so anyone can still join in the fun!

Thanks again Jimmy, you are The Man!

      You are very welcome.

  • http://lc-shrink.blogspot.com/ Holly J.

Jimmy, I’m thrilled you featured Jamie’s blog Your Lighter Side! Her stuff is fantastic!

I feel this type of post is a great way to keep the community together. Sometimes people feel like they’re blogging and they’re alone.

(BTW – thanks for featuring my blog in the past!)

    • http://www.livinlavidalowcarb.com Jimmy Moore

You bet Holly! All of us who are blogging have been there before wondering if anyone is reading our stuff. If I can shine a light on these and let others experience the amazing stuff that other people are putting out there, then it makes us ALL stronger. THANKS for your comments!

  • http://camillamaybee.blogspot.com/ Camilla

These are great! I love having a good variety of sites to pick up tips and tidbits.

Definitely would appreciate a shout out in a future post :) I’m deployed to Iraq at the moment and doing my best to take it as a chance to get fit and healthy (and clearly, serve the nation). Resources are limited, but that’s half the fun!

    • http://www.livinlavidalowcarb.com Jimmy Moore

Got you down for the next blog update, Camilla! THANK YOU for your service to our country and we pray you make it hope safely soon. :)

  • http://waterlily11.blogspot.com Suzan

    Thanks, Jimmy!

  • pjnoir

You really need to double check those web sites, the first three I checked were Atkins bashers relying on the common lies and faslehoods about him, his death and his diet. The other was a fat fearing loon. You are not helping Jimmy if you just read the titles.

    • http://www.livinlavidalowcarb.com Jimmy Moore

The first three? Really? Your Lighter Side is from a long-time strong low-carber named Jamie who has been supportive of healthy low-carb living for a while and is a real person living this lifestyle. What’s John Eating exhibits some delicious low-carb foods that John consumes as part of his healthy low-carb lifestyle. And The Silent Evidence Speaks is the story of a successful Paleo dieter. Now keep in mind these aren’t just low-carb blogs…they’re health blogs that I think are pretty darn interesting as well even if they do something challenge what we think about low-carb living. That’s a GOOD thing to see what others are saying about low-carb to help strengthen what we believe and why we believe it. Hope this helps!

  • pjnoir

No sorry, The first three I opened randomly. I’m not a linear type of person.

    • http://www.livinlavidalowcarb.com Jimmy Moore

Gotcha! Just know that I put the best ones near the top.

  • http://www.stevenlord.me.uk Steven Lord

Thanks for the list. Was very interested in the Sugar Free Running blog but the last entry seems to be Sept 2009. I am slowly working my way through everyone you’ve listed. Thankyou so much.
I’m a Ironman Triathlete and Coach who follows a low carb lifestyle and blog occasionally about it. Endurance sports is full of this belief of low fat, high carb diet… I try to do my bit once in a while on my blog to try and make people question this.

    Thanks again
    Steven

    • http://www.livinlavidalowcarb.com Jimmy Moore

THANKS Steven! Send me your blog URL to livinlowcarbman@charter.net and I’ll add you to the next list.

  • http://www.feelgoodeating.com Marc

Thank you so much for the link love Jimmy.

    Keep spreading the good word!

      You bet Marc!

  • http://getfitkatie.blogspot.com Kate M.

Thanks for the great list. I just started blogging about my low carb experience, and it has contributed greatly to the success of my diet. I know your list helps other bloggers get foot traffic, generates comments, and really helps with the support aspect!

    • http://www.livinlavidalowcarb.com Jimmy Moore

Thanks Kate! I’m adding your blog to my next big update. :)
