28 New Paleo, Low-Carb & Health Blogs For January 2013

It’s been a pretty typical January here at the “Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb” blog in 2013 so far with tens of thousands of brand new faces gracing us with their presence looking for more information about losing weight and getting healthy. This phenomenon seems to grow more and more each and every year as people attempt to become more health-conscious (at least for a period of time) and seek out anything they can find about what it takes to get there as part of their New Year’s resolutions. With “Paleo” and “Atkins” being the two most searched diet terms in 2013 so far, there’s a very real hunger and thirst for knowledge out there and I’m happy to play just a small part in providing education, encouragement and inspiration to anyone who seeks it in their weight and health journey. If you’re new to the low-carb community, let me officially wish you a warm WELCOME and I invite you to stick around for a while!

This has been an odd week for me because my “normal” schedule of blogging, podcasting and social media stuff will be shifting to a much more intense book-writing mode starting next week and for the next couple of months or so. I’ve been researching and preparing the general outline of my upcoming Victory Belt book about reading cholesterol test results and the nitty gritty of typing it all out in an easy-to-use layman’s guide to understanding it all begins in earnest next week. I’m truly excited about this project and everyone I talk to says this is the kind of book that is needed now more than ever. The expected release date will be sometime in the Fall 2013 (likely September or October) and it will be listed on Amazon by March for pre-orders. If I’m silent answering e-mails, posting to Twitter and Facebook or writing much on my blog (other than my monthly updates on my n=1 experiment of nutritional ketosis), then you know I’m working hard on getting that book finished.

To free up time for me to write this book, I had to give up doing all three of my podcasts for the next couple of months. But that doesn’t mean they’re all going away completely. While you’re used to seeing three new “Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show” podcasts on Mondays through Wednesdays, the LIVE “Ask The Low-Carb Experts” podcast on Thursday nights and the “Low-Carb Conversations” podcast with my co-host Dietitian Cassie on Fridays, the schedule will shift a bit as I’ve lined up some fabulous guest hosts and special shows for you while I’m away. The only show going completely away for the next two months is “Ask The Low-Carb Experts.” I hate to interrupt my newest podcast that has been so much fun focusing in on a specific topic with a specific expert guest, but I wouldn’t have time to host this and it’s a lot of trouble putting a LIVE show on someone else. The good news is I am handing the reigns of “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show” over to many of your favorite Paleo and low-carb health podcasters and bloggers on Mondays with fresh, new content to enjoy week after week. And on Wednesdays I’ll be sharing a “Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show Classic” episode that aired so long ago that it doesn’t even appear on iTunes anymore. This will expose you to some great content and get the episode back on iTunes where it belongs. Here’s what the line-up will look like while I’m away:

2-4: GUEST HOSTS Diane Sanfilippo & Liz Wolfe
2-6: LLVLC Show Classic – Dr. Allen Rader
2-11: GUEST HOST Stefani Ruper
2-13: LLVLC Show Classic – Per Wikholm/Dr. Annika Dahlqvist
2-18: GUEST HOST Abel James
2-20: LLVLC Show Classic – Dr. Dean Ornish
2-25: GUEST HOST Dave Asprey
2-27: LLVLC Show Classic – Kat James
3-4: GUEST HOST Sean Croxton
3-6: LLVLC Show Classic – Doug Kaufmann
3-11: GUEST HOST Roger Dickerman & Dr. Colin Champ
3-13: LLVLC Show Classic – Dr. Jim LaValle
3-18: GUEST HOST Tom Naughton
3-20: LLVLC Show Classic – Dr. Keith Berkowitz
3-25: GUEST HOST Jonathan Bailor
3-27: LLVLC Show Classic – Dr. James Carlson
4-1: GUEST HOST Dean Dwyer
4-3: LLVLC Show Classic – Dr. Barry Groves

This is gonna be so much fun for me because I’ve never relinquished control of my podcast like this. But all of these amazing people have chosen to help me out while I’m writing my book and I am incredibly grateful. And the archived podcast interviews I’ll be replaying may be brand new to so many of you who have only just discovered my podcast and wondering which of the older ones to listen to. These are some of my favorites for a variety of reasons and I can’t wait to have you hear them and be able to access them on iTunes again. As for “Low-Carb Conversations,” Dietitian Cassie will be joined by my long-time podcast producer Kevin Kennedy-Spaien from Disc Of Light Media who is actually the reason why I became a podcaster to begin with. In the summer 2006, Kevin approached me about joining him on a compilation health show called “The Health Hacks Podcast” and I remember asking him, “What the heck is a podcast?” You’re gonna LOVE hearing Kevin’s contributions as he has been very well educated listening to every single minute of all of my podcasts for over six years. He and Cassie along with various members of the Paleo and low-carb communities will do a fantastic job tackling the health headlines on Fridays in February and March. I’m gonna miss doing my podcasts, but this book is sorely needed at a time when cholesterol confusion abounds. Wish me well as I put pen to paper and crank this thing out in the coming months.

I’ll be participating in two great health conferences in March 2013:

I hope to see you in Spokane, Washington for the “Become Superhuman” conference or in Austin, Texas at the “PaleoFX” event where I am scheduled to speak and lead some panels. It’s gonna be a busy time for me with the book writing, attending these conferences and getting prepared for the upcoming 2013 Low-Carb Cruise in May. We’ve still got more excellent content to share with you the rest of this week. But as I like to do on a regular basis as a means of paying it forward to my fellow bloggers doing great work, here are 28 new Paleo, low-carb and health blogs that you should take a look at. If you like what you see at any of these blogs, then don’t hesitate to leave them a comment on their blog, write an e-mail to the blog author and bookmark their blog to visit again soon. In case you missed any of my previous blog listings, I’ve got them all listed for you here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here and here.

If you or someone you know has a low-carb, Paleo or health blog or web site that you’d like to see featured in a future blog post here at “Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb,” then I’d love to know about it. E-mail me the name of the blog and the URL to livinlowcarbman@charter.net so I can add it to my next big blog update. If you’ve been successful in your weight and health goals by eating a healthy Paleo or low-carb diet, then you should DEFINITELY consider blogging as we begin 2013. We will perhaps be the first contact that so many people who are searching for quality information on healthy nutrition will encounter. Let’s be that one unified voice of reason in a world of dietary confusion to bring clarity and truth to what to eat for optimal health. I appreciate all of your prayers and happy thoughts as I work my way through finishing up the writing process on my book on reading cholesterol test results. There’s so much to say and I want this book to be a useful tool to anyone looking to maximize their lipid health!
