Is he still a professor, or was he an adjunct professor for one year only (1988-1999)? Once a professor, always a professor? Unclear to me on his website. Way to much bold and exclamation there for my taste. Much detail is provided about his zero calcium heart scan score, except the most critical detail -- percentile compared to the population. Jimmy, you have had a calcium score heart scan, as have I. I seem to recall that a zero score is no great feat, as 75% of 50-year-old men will have a zero score. Am I close?

Mary Enig opines concisely on Professor Brian Peskin at:

Thanks Steve! Let me point you to the show notes section for the Peskin podcast to see some pretty intriguing comments related to your concerns. Thanks for sharing!

There is a counterpoint to the Quackwatch website at www.quackpotwatch.org. Go and read the opposite view of Quackwatch and make up your own mind. I would not value the opinion of someone who thinks Weston Price was a quack.

You might notice, though, that this "list of quacks" includes Weston Price -- whom *I* certainly don't think of as a quack! How 'bout you Jimmie?! I don't know anything about this guy -- haven't even listened to the podcast yet, but checked the site out.

Until some info is forthcoming about who this site's owner is, and on what the bases he declares all these folks quacks, I'm withholding judgment: after all, all the "regular" medical folks think low carb is dangerous!

Don't buy the attack until you investigate the attacker, eh?

I didn't personally agree with everything Brian shared in this interview, but I think he's hardly a "quack." Yes, he's quite the talker and you can tell these subjects are near and dear to him. You can't squash passion like that.

For that matter, I've been called worse than a "quack" and yet I believe everyone with a voice to share deserves a chance to be heard. Take what you can from anyone and add to your knowledge. That's how we educate ourselves best.

Yes, Peskin made in onto Quachwatch.com's list of "Promoters of Questionable Practices":

http://www.quackwatch.org/11Ind/index.html

It includes Oprah Winfrey and Dr. Andrew Weil.

Good evening Jimmy,

I remember the Radient Health program and a few years back found the paper work in the closet. I did some searching to see what happened to Brian Peskin and found this bit of info.
