‘Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show’ Episode 245: Dr. Ann Louise Gittleman Helps You ‘Get The Sugar Out’

Dr. Ann Louise Gittleman prepares you to “get the sugar out” of your diet

The difference between the idea of cutting sugar out of your diet and actually doing it can sometimes be quite challenging for people who are wanting to begin a healthy low-carb lifestyle. I know all about that after taking the plunge in January 2004 to stop eating sugar and all of its “kissing cousins” when I began the Atkins diet to lose weight and get my health back. Today we have one of the world’s foremost authorities on all the negative effects that sugar is having on our bodies.

In Episode 245 of “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore,” we are privileged to have the First Lady of Nutrition Dr. Ann Louise Gittleman, bestselling author of The Fat Flush Plan, with us to talk about healthy sugar-free living. She talks at great link about her newly updated version of Get the Sugar Out: 501 Simple Ways to Cut the Sugar Out of Any Diet. Hear her talk about the evils of eating sugar, how even health food manufacturers hide sugar in their products, why eating anything sweet may be leading to an insulin spike, her idea of “adding insulin to injury,” what you can do to fight off the cravings, how cutting down on your salt intake can reduce your desire for sugar, and the overwhelming impact on health that sugar has made on people who consume it. You can’t help but listen to what Dr. Gittleman has to say because of her enormous passion about the subject.

Coming up next week, we’ve got Dr. Heidi Dulay on Monday to share with us about the work she is doing with her Extreme Regime Fat Burn program which is low-carb nutrition. Then on Thursday, we have a BIG NAME in the world of low-carb living–the Paleo way! He is Dr. Loren Cordain, author of the bestselling book The Paleo Diet: Lose Weight and Get Healthy by Eating the Food You Were Designed to Eat, who educates us about all things related to the Paleo diet. This is one podcast interview you WON’T want to miss and it’s coming up next week. THANK YOU for listening to “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore.”

Did you say above that eating anything sweet may be leading to an insulin spike – even artificial sweeteners? That is quite interesting. Of course she isn’t the only expert to warn of the dangers of artificial sweeteners.

That’s what Dr. Gittleman believes, Chris. And she is joined by others in that assessment of AS, too, but there are also a lot of experts in the low-carb community who disagree. One of these days perhaps we can come to a consensus on what’s right. THANK YOU for your comments!

Looking forward to podcast with Dr Heidi DuLay. Never heard of her before so followed the link to her Extreme Regime Fat Burn Program. She, like Ann Gittleman don’t recommend artificial sweeteners. Dr DuLay only recommends stevia but not Truvia.

Hey, what was the name of that vegetable she mentioned near the end. The crunchy, hi-fiber, sweet one, that she liked a lot and Jimmy had never heard of?

THANKS Michael! Dr. Gittleman was referring to Jícama at the end of this podcast interview. CHECK IT OUT!
