I actually find that I lose faster with lower carb fruits in my diet. I'm not sure if it's because I have less craving or if it is the vitamins or even water content. I will say, when I eat a little fruit I have fewer cravings and end up eating next to no low carb processed snacks. I just feel more relaxed and less restricted. I want to do more research on the paleo or primal diets.

Congrads jimmy, great interview. He briefly alludes in the interview to possible differences in your respective positions on what constitutes an appropriate amount of fruit. It will be interesting to hear you discuss that in a future interview.
My view is that the Primal/Paleo lifestyle is a subset of the low carb lifestyle - a specialist offshoot, if you like, geared towards people who are a bit more serious about the athletic performance side and more purist about diet. I am definately a 'primalist' (I would never eat hot dogs, for example even though they are low carb) but I am also a pragmatist and believe it's important to spread the word that the low carb lifestyle, provided it's within reasonable healthy boundaries, is a healthier way, as it probably represents our best shot at persuading a wider audience away from the high carb lunacy under which most people live.
Well-stated Methuselah! I'm all for people finding what works for them...it's the very essence of what makes livin' la vida low-carb work for virtually everyone. If that means eating a little more fruit than someone else, then so be it. I'm adjusting my own personal needs for fruit as we speak, so me and Mark probably aren't as far apart as he thinks we are. :) See my recent menus blogs to see how much fruit I'm eating now. ;)
