It seems to me today (tomorrow might well be different)
that the term &quot;whole grains&quot; is bad because some whole grains increase your chance of heart problems (like wheat) and others (like rice or corn or oats) don&#039;t seem to do that.  It&#039;s like vegetables ( spinach is good, potatoes are bad) or fruit (berries are good, bananas are bad.  But it&#039;s not so simple as the glycemic index.
It seems like the Japanese who eat rice all the time have a fifth the heart disease we do, so it&#039;s hard to blame carbohydrates for heart disease.  I&#039;m starting to think it&#039;s wheat, but I wonder what other people think.
You can see I&#039;m more interested in long term health than in weight loss, but I haven&#039;t made up my mind about anything.
